Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) delegation in Bhutan
A business delegation, coordinated by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) and comprising businesses from India, visited Thimphu on 28 September 2026. The delegation included representatives of leading Indian companies specializing in smartphone, electronics, computer hardware and software exports from India - Sai Infocomm and Services (acrossglobesanjay@gmail.com), Softbit Computer (md@softbitindia.in) and Kisha Telelinks Pvt Ltd (kailash@kgrindia.com).
2. An interactive session on 28 September brought together senior officials and representatives from the Royal Government of Bhutan, the business community in Bhutan, the IT professionals, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders. Mr. Aniket Mandavgane, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Thimphu, and Mr. Mani Pradhan, President, ICT Association of Bhutan (ICTAB), attended the inaugural session. The delegation also met with the Ambassador of India to Bhutan.
3. During the business interaction, members of the delegation presented the range of specialized products and solutions offered by them. They held fruitful interactions on expanding India-Bhutan electronics and computer software sector ties with business houses and entrepreneurs in Thimphu.
4. India has emerged as a major global player in electronics and ICT sector. India is now the world’s second-largest manufacturer of mobile phones by volume, and smartphones emerged as India’s single largest export product category in 2025.
5. The electronics and computer software sector is an important area of India-Bhutan economic and trade cooperation, encompassing electronics, computer hardware and software, information and communication technology, and other technology-enabled products and services. There is considerable potential to further expand bilateral cooperation in the electronics and computer software sector. Business-level exchanges with Bhutan during the ESC delegation’s visit will benefit efforts to enhance trade, business collaboration and technical tie-ups between the two countries.
