Press Release: Announcement of the award of the Ambassador’s Scholarship


The Embassy of India is pleased to announce the award of the Ambassador’s Scholarship 2021-2022 for self-financing Bhutanese students who are enrolled and pursuing education in Indian colleges, institutes and universities. All Bhutanese students who met the eligibility criteria for the Ambassador’s Scholarship have been granted the Scholarship and the complete list of recipients of the Ambassador’s Scholarship may be seen on the website of the Embassy of India, Thimphu.

2. A special programme was held at the India House Estate on 29 November 2021 which was attended by several Thimphu-based recipients of the Ambassador’s Scholarship. Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj said, “As in the past, India remains an attractive destination for Bhutanese students to pursue higher education and further their academic careers. We are delighted to grant the Ambassador’s Scholarship to more than a thousand Bhutanese students every year and take forward the ‘Study in India’ initiative. We greatly look forward to welcoming many more of you to Study in India.”
