Air Travel Arrangement

India has entered into “Air Travel Arrangement” or “Transport Bubble” agreement with Bhutan on 18 September 2020.

2. The Air Bubble is a temporary agreement between two countries aimed at restarting commercial passenger services when regular international flights are suspended, in this case as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

3. The agreement is reciprocal in nature, this would mean that airlines from both countries enjoy similar benefits under the agreement.

4. Additional details on the arrangement can be accessed through https://www.civilaviation.gov.in/en/about-air-transport-bubbles

5. Under the agreement, flight services will be operated between Paro-New Delhi, Paro-Kolkata, Paro-Bagdogra and Paro-Guwahati. The first flight service is to be operated between Paro-Bagdogra by Druk Airline on 01 October 2020.
